Jackie in a nutshell
I was born in Vietnam and, as a young girl, was sponsored with my family from a Malaysian refugee camp to Washington State. In 1985, we moved to San Jose, CA, and the Bay Area has been my home ever since.
I graduated from Santa Clara University with a B.S. in Biology and later earned a Certification in Multimedia/Desktop Publishing from Masters Institute. With over 25 years of experience in graphic design and print, I have developed extensive expertise in large-format, offset, and digital printing. Throughout my career, I have worked with companies such as SuperGraphics, Inc., EXLprints, Fineline Graphics & Design, Inc., and Santa Clara University. In addition to my full-time roles, I freelance as a graphic designer, creating everything from printed collaterals and web graphics to vehicle wraps, logos, apparel, books, and CD covers for a variety of clients.
Currently, I serve as the Graphic Designer and Director of Creative Arts at New Beginnings Community Church. This role allows me to merge my passion for visual storytelling with ministry, creating designs that inspire and communicate the message of faith in impactful ways.
Photography is another creative passion of mine—I love capturing the beauty of God’s creation and moments that tell a story or evoke deep emotions. This love for visual storytelling enhances both my design work and my role in ministry.
At 19, I began my journey with God and quickly became an active volunteer in various areas of church ministry, including worship and media, children’s ministry, puppet ministry, and prison ministry. I have a deep passion for worship and long to see people encounter the transformative presence of the living God.
In my free time, I enjoy photography, cheering for the Golden State Warriors, hiking, road trips, traveling, attending worship concerts and Christian conferences, discovering new eateries, and spending quality time with friends in fellowship.
